Women Take Home Third in Mountaineer Open

Sepetember 14 - BOONE, N.C.- On a very rainy day, with not-ideal weather conditions, Appalachian hosted the Covered Bridge Open at the State Farm fields on the Don Kennedy trails. The women finished third overall in the meet.

With their number one runner out due to an knee injury, the leadership duties were carried by senior Jennifer Povick.Povick finished third overall with a time of 18:48. After Povick came junior Hannah Parks who finished ninth, with teammates Kayla Robertson and Ashley Norrisplacing 12th and 15th respectively.

Appalachian will take a one week hiatus before returning to action on September 28. The Mountaineers wil have their first away meet of the season, competing at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. The meet is scheduled to start at noon.
