Wednesday’s Baseball Game Versus ETSU Cancelled

May 5, 2008 - BOONE, N.C. — Wednesday’s baseball game between Appalachian State University and East Tennessee State at ASU’s Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.

Appalachian (26-23, 10-11 SoCon) returns to action this weekend when it hosts Furman (29-15, 15-6 SoCon) in a battle of the Southern Conference’s hottest teams. The final games of the season at Smith Stadium are set for 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The Mountaineers come into the weekend showdown the winners of four-straight conference series for the first time since 1986. The only club in the SoCon hotter than the Apps are the Paladins, who have won 13-consecutive conference games to move into first place in the league standings.
