Appalachian soccer begins its third season at the ASU Soccer Stadium in 2007. The newly constructed facility features a full-size natural-grass pitch and bleacher seating for 360 fans on an elevated bluff that offers impeccable sight lines of the action on the field as well as a picturesque panoramic view of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains

The facility is located at the university’s State Farm complex and saw its first regular-season action on Thursday, Sept. 1 when Mountaineers’ women’s team defeated Gardner-Webb 2-0 with Whitney Southard scoring the first regular-season goal at the ASU Soccer Stadium. The men opened up their home schedule on Sept. 12 with a 2-0 win over Liberty. Paul Pessina scored the men's first tally on the new field.
